Use 3rd Party Authority:
“I need to run that by my – boss, manager, wife or dog”
Never try to negotiate with a person who does not have the authority to make the decision.

Good Guy/Bad Guy
You present yourself as the advocate for your negotiation prospect.
“I understand your situation, unlike my boss who is just all business”

No.10
Be Prepared To Walk
This is a most important distinction on the subject of negotiation.
If you fall in love with the, car, house, furniture or whatever and the salesman knows it, you will have less power in the negotiation.
You must be prepared to walk if the terms of your negotiation are not working out to your liking.

Sit side by side, or at a right angle.
